Decades after Christ's resurrection, his church was continually growing, filling the known world with the peace and sacrificial love of Christ. But it wasn't easy. The hostility of the Roman world and everyday struggles of humanity could be confusing and distracting to God's people.

Peter addressed these and other issues in his first letter to a group of churches in Asia Minor, clarifying their hope in Christ and calling them to be Christ's representatives to the nations.
