Please donate clothing items at Destination Church this Sunday (Feb 6th) for Lakeshore Healthcare and Rehab. Men’s clothing is especially needed (but not socks). Women’s clothing is welcome. Please clean and bag any clothes you’d like to donate.
For the first week of our Financial Resolution teaching series we looked at the subject of cultivating contentment. We found that the Bible has a very straightforward and practical suggestion when it comes to de-stressing. You want to start living stress free and growing in contentment? Then, seek a relationship with Christ and give your possessions away to those who really need them!
The scripture says:
Luke 12:25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
Verse 31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
Verse 33 Sell your possessions, and give to the needy.
That’s it! Focus your entire life on Christ and de-clutter your possessions. We are often over burdened by our junk. In fact, peoples estimated life span goes down as their income goes up. The more a person uses self terminology like “me”, “mine”, “my” or “I” the more likely they are to have a heart attack. Materialism has serious health complications.
Show Christ that you want him to be first place in your life. Joyfully and generously offer the very clothes that God provided you with in the first place, this Sunday at Destination. Experience spiritual focus and contentment through prioritizing others.
