Water Baptism: What Should I Expect?
What should I do ahead of time?
Please invite your friends and family to your baptism so they can celebrate it with you. Feel free to email a written testimony to the church ahead of time. This is not required however. Please arrive early for your baptism.
What will I need to bring?
Wear dark clothing, bring a change of clothes, a towel and a camera if you want someone to take pictures.
How does it work?
A leader at Trinity will share a brief teaching on baptism. They will then enter the baptismal pool and invite each person being baptized one at a time. It is best to be barefoot for this part. You will be helped in and out of the pool if necessary.
You will be asked the following question: "Have you repented of your sins and placed your faith in Christ alone?" You should answer "Yes". You will then be quickly dipped under the water and brought back up. There may be a short prayer for you and then you can go and change your clothes in a private room. A meal or other special activities can be planned to celebrate the occasion.
